Emma Curtis was born November 1857 in England to John and Lucy (Hallden) Curtis. She was a spinster until the age of 48, when she married on September 30, 1905 recently widowed Thomas Bonner of Sheffield, Massachusetts. She was certainly introduced to her husband by her sister Maria, wife of Thomas Bonner's good friend Harry Harriott. Emma died in Sheffield on January 16, 1916 of stomach cancer. Her body was taken back to the Bonner family plot in Fairview Cemetery.
