Gale was born to Blaine and Ruth Curtis on Sept. 1, 1933, in Declo, Idaho. On June 25, 1953, Gale married Sandra Nisson. Together, they had four children, Kennion Taylor, Steven Blaine, Karen and Joan.
Gale was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also enjoyed researching family history and collecting rare books.
Gale earned his bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics from Brigham Young University in 1954. He went on to be an accomplished scientist who dedicated his career to developing technologies in missile defense. Gale also used his problem solving skills in the fields of wind energy and agricultural production.
Gale is survived by his brother, Denny Curtis (Janice) of Burley; sister, Susan Toner (David), of Burley; son, Steven Curtis (Sherry), of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Karen Gubler (Gary), of Campbell, CA, and Joan Nash (Christopher), of Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends and family may call from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Declo Cemetery.
