Ryan William Curtis went to be with our heavenly father on Jan. 26, 2007. Ryan was 15 and was born June 15, 1991, in Reno. Nev. to Carrie Lyn Delaney and Thomas Joseph Curtis.
Ryan attended Woodland Middle School in Coeur d'Alene from 2001-2004 and Coeur d'Alene High School from 2005-2007.
He played football for Coeur d'Alene Jr. Tackle in 6th, 7th and 8th grade for the Steelers. In 2002, while in the 6th grade, they were the city champions and in 2003 they were 7th grade champions, with no losses both years. They lost one game in 2004, which made their three-year record 21 wins and one loss. Their motto was "Steelers are strong. Steelers are fast. Steelers are smart. Steelers will dominate." Ryan loved playing football. He loved his teammates and coaches. He also played basketball for Woodland Middle School in 7th grade.
Ryan is survived by his mother Carrie; father Thomas; his stepdad Mike Stephan and family; his sisters, Ashley and Megan Davis; his brothers, AJ Delaney, Jacob, Taylor and Sevin Davis; his cousins, Jamison, Justin and Jaiydon Delaney, Fenicia Harington, Misty and Casey Delaney, Willow and Dove Delaney; his aunts Stacy and Trina Delaney; his uncle Kelly Delaney; his great-grandmother Ruth Miller; his grandmother Mary Delaney; and grandfather Skip Delaney. He is also survived by numerous other family members, as well as many, many friends who will love and miss him dearly.
Ryan will be put to rest today at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens, following services at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, W. Hanley Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
