--First child of Thomas Washington Current and wife Alice J. Brice.
--U.S. Army Veteran; he was serving in the Phillipines in 1900.Wilson Dam Victim, died June 13, 1919-His name is on a bronze plaque placed at the North entrance of the Wilson Dam to remember those that died during the building, 1919-1925. Wilson Dam is located in Northwest, Alabama between Lauderdale County and Colbert County. I also found a news article in the Florence Times-News dated, April 6, 1926, 'Unsung Heroes Gave Lives In Building of Wilson Dam', Charles Current was listed in the news article, and is on a list compiled by L.C. Bill Clemmons, as part of 'The Alabama World War I Centennial', his own writings, dated April 3, 2017, located at the Florence Library, 350 N. Wood Ave. Florence, AL 35630. Charles Current died Friday, June 13, 1919 as a result of a Rail Accident. I am using this information on his memorial so future generations of his family will have access to his history in life. His remains were shipped to Charlotte, N.C. for burial the day after he died.
