Colby Phillip Curran, 24, former Gentry, Arkansas resident, died January 23, 2009, at his home in Springdale, Arkansas. Born May 21, 1984 in Bentonville, Arkansas, he was the son of Larry Dean Curran and Lou Ann Phillips Curran. Colby was a graduate of Gentry High School and was a disabled jailer with the Washington County Sheriffs Department. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his girls. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gentry, Arkansas.


Survivors include his wife Ashley Curran of Springdale; two daughters, Amy and Lindsey Curran of the home; his parents Larry and Lou Ann Curran of Gentry, Arkansas; his maternal grandmother, June Phillips of Gentry, Arkansas; his mother-in-law, Danita Dyke of Bentonville, Arkansas; three brothers, Jason Curran, Robert Curran, both of Gentry, Arkansas, and Larry Curran, Jr., of Springdale, Arkansas.


Pallbearers will be Wade Fortin, Scott Sharp, Mark Brewer, Lucas Shelley, Erich Kollman, Jake Cripps, Jeff Reams and Buck Whitmill. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Ash, Michael Luedecke, Geoff Kimball, and Eric Dalke.


Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Gentry, Arkansas, with Rev. Lyndle J. Taylor and Rev. Charles Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow at Douglas Cemetery, Benton County, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. A memorial trust fund has been established for Amy and Lindsey Curran's College Fund at the Decatur State Bank, Gentry, Arkansas.
