OBITUARY FOR DOROTHY M. BARRAGAR....
Mrs. Dorothy May Barragar, age 74, of rural Oswego, died Saturday, May 13, 2000 at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
She was born May 1, 1926 to Clarence and Mary (Hall) Cunningham of Oswego. She graduated from Labette County Community High Scool in 1943.
She and Meredith Barragar were married April 14, 1945 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Parsons. He survives of the home.
She was a registered nurse and had worked as the Director of Nursing for nusing homes in Chetopa and Oswego. She had also taught school for five years in several area schools. She and her husband were 4-H Leaders for the Oswego 101 4-H Club for five years. She and her husband had also owned and operated the Barragar Ayrshire Farms of Oswego. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Oswego and was very active in the church. She was a member of the 101 Homemakers Club.
Survivors include one son, Roger Barragar of Oswego; two daughters, Marcia Mattox of Oswego and Margie Doyle of Parsons; one brother, Marvin Cunningham of Weir, Kans.; and seven grandchilddren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 16, at the Bath Funeral Home of Chetopa with the Rev. Paul Schnelle officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Creek Cemetery of rural Bartlett.
Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund and may be left or mailed to the Bath Funeral Home, ox 325, Altamont, KS.
