Anna Mae Cunningham, the mother of Robert Cunningham of Sterling, died Thursday at Sterling Regional MedCenter,
Funeral was Monday afternoon for Mrs. Cunningham, 84, of Holyoke, at Holyoke United Methodist Church with Rev. Marvin Essing presiding.Burial is at Haxtun Cemetery.
Mrs. Cunningham was born Feb.16, 1907, in Ten Mile, Tenn., to Charles and Sammie (Cox) Blount.
She received her elementary and high school education in Tennessee. She married John "Dutch" Cunningham on Oct. 15, 1924, in Spring City, Tenn.After their marriage they moved to the Haxtun area and lived on a farm southeast of Haxtun in the Highland Center community. Along with their farming, they raised horses, buffalo, elk, several varieties of deer, and llamas. Cunningham died in 1979 and Mrs. Cunningham stayed on the farm until 1983, when she moved to Holyoke. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert, and Roger, of Albuquerque, N.M.; four daughters, Mae Ola Gibbs of Holyoke, Viola Lambert of Lemon Grove, Calif., Frances Barnes of Sidney, Neb., and Jean Briggs of Elizabeth; two brothers, Bob and Charles Blount of Ten nessee; four sisters, Norma Jean Fisher of Connecticut, and Margau rite Clayton, Ruby Halloman and Sammie Elder, all of Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
