Charles Alma Cummings was born October 19, 1874, in Millville, the son of Charles and Anna Carolina Jonson Cummings. His parents divorced; and in 1876, his mother married Peter Andrew Hartvigsen. The family lived in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, and Charles attended schools in Hyrum and Millville. He later moved to Millville where he lived with his grandmother, Anna Jonson, caring for her until her death. On December 8, 1903, he married Hidive Carolina Trolson. She was born December 8, 1878, in Millville, the daughter of Andrew John and Karna Hanson Nilsson Trolson. Hidvie was raised on a farm; and she learned to milk cows, separate cream and churn butter. She attended school in Martin Woolfs school room. She served in Primary and Relief Society. Alma was a successful farmer, and his surroundings were neat and clean. He enjoyed music and loved to sing. He was badly injured in a train-car accident and died a few days later. He and Hidvie are the parents of:Connie (Edward Knowles), Wynona (Harvey Ray Hill) and Helen. Hidvie later married Gideon Alvord.
