Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday for Miss Eugenia Alford, teacher in Lida Hooe School, who died Tuesday [March 1] at her home, 421 East Ninth.
Services will be at the Poole Funeral Home, 437 West Jefferson. H.A. Mitchell, reader for the Church of Christ, Scientist, will officiate.
Miss Alford will be buried at Marshall, her birthplace, with graveside services set for 4 p.m. Thursday.
A Dallas teacher for the last 25 years, Miss Alford previously had taught at Jefferson and Marshall.
She was the author of two books of poems, Busy Little Feet and Busy Little Fingers, written for children age 6 to 8. She was a member of the Third Church of Christ, Scientist.
She is survived by two sisters, Miss Anna Alford of Denton and Mrs. F.A. Jones of Greenville, S.C., and a brother, Charles C. Alford of Washington [DC].
