Janie Elizabeth Autrey 94,of Texarkana, Texas died Tuesday December 31,2002 in a local hospital. Mrs. Autrey was born January 18,1908 in Neam, La. She was a retired seamstress and employee of Boulevard Cleaners and a member of Landmark Pentecostal Church. She was preceaded in death by her husband, Horace Eugene Autrey; one son, Thomas Eugene Autrey; and two grandchildren, Carletta Autrey and Tim Ashcraft. Survivors include one daughter, Nina Ashcroft of Denver City, Texas; five grandchildren, Thomas Autrey of Texarkana; Jerry Kelly and Jan Adams of Texarkana, Ark; Margie Wooldridge of Colorado Springs, Colo; and Susan Bickley of Fort Worth, Texas; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Texarkana Funeral Home Fuqua-Everett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Duane Ray officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

I met Janie late in her life but grew to love her dearly and will always miss her. She had a quick mind, spoke her mind, had a firey spirit and was a pure joy to be around.
