Sentinel, The (Carlisle, PA) - Thursday, April 22, 1999 Melvena C. Brackbill, 75, of Lower Allen Township, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at home. Born May 17, 1923 in Petersburg, she was a daughter of the late Roy S. and Frieda M. Morningstar Crownover and the widow of Homer C. Brackbill. She was a member of Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church and NARFE, Harrisburg Chapter 102 and Mechanicsburg Chapter 1816. Mrs. Brackbill is survived by three daughters, Joyce K. Brackbill of Harrisburg, Ruth Ann Neubold of York Haven and Jean M. Gochenauer of Mechanicsburg; a son, David P. of Prospect; two brothers, Earl Crownover of Ligonier and Wayne Crownover of Mountain Home, Ark.; two sisters, Betty Seidel of Stoneboro and Sylvia Lynn of Airless Hills; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, 300 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Donald E. Potter officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Enola.
