ANDERSON, JANE CROWE - departed this life for her heavenly home on June 4, 2012, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Georgia. She was born on June 21stt, 1924 on a farm in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, where her parents, William Thomas and Winnie Jane Hunt Crowe, lovingly raised her. Her education at Knoxville Business College led her to work for the Knoxville Utilities Board, where she met her future husband, the late Newell Sanders (Andy) Anderson. They married at Central Methodist Church in 1945. After a few years at home raising her family, she returned to work at KUB as the beautiful and smiling face at the downtown information desk. She was able to touch many lives through her work, retiring in 1995, after 30 years of service. She was a passionate member of Central Methodist Church for over 60 years. In addition to her primary devotion to her church family, where she served in many capacities, she gave selflessly to many other worthy causes. These include: Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, Ossoli Circle, Girls Club of Knoxville, March of Dimes, United Way, YWCA, Knoxville Nativity Pageant, Angel Ministries, Meals on Wheels, and Habitat for Humanity. She was truly a "Tennessee Volunteer" and faithful servant of God. She left the world a better place for being in it. Words cannot express how much her vibrant and loving spirit will be missed. We will see you in Heaven! Her special ministry was sending notes of encouragement on every occasion and visiting the sick and infirm. Her Christian witness was a blessing to everyone around her. She touched countless lives, making it a priority to serve others. As her memory failed following complications during heart surgery, she and Newell relocated to St. Simons Island, Georgia to live out their days near their daughter and family. Pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Newell, and her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Conley E. Morris, and she is survived by her brother, William and Katherine Crowe and family of Tellico Plains, beloved daughter, Cathy Anderson Murphy, her husband, Mike, and their daughters, Maggie and Katie of St. Simons Island, Georgia; beloved stepchildren: Newell Jr. and Lynne Anderson of Nashville, James H. Anderson of Lenoir City, Rochelle and Doug Veum and family of Knoxville, and Mike and Florence Anderson and family of St. Simons Island, Georgia. Visitation will be Saturday, June 9th, at Central Methodist Church between 1:00 and 2:45 pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm. Interment immediately following at Lynnhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 201 E Third Ave., Knoxville, TN 37919. Arrangements made by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
