Gladys Naomi Carmichael, 85, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. Born Sept. 11, 1918 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Bryan and Nellie (Sullivan) Crowe. She was a homemaker, and a member of Sylvania Wesleyan Church. Survivors include one daughter, Joann Norris of Bloomfield; one son, Robert Lee Carmichael of Russiaville; one sister, Leona Frye of Bloomfield; two brothers, Leslie Crowe and Glen Crowe, both of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Rhonda Royal and Teresa Schantz, both of Bloomfield, Jeff Combs of Solsberry and Eric Carmichael of Russiaville; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Carmichael in 1981; one infant daughter, Edna Lorene Carmichael; three brothers, Lexie, Dale, and Ranard Crowe; and her parents. Funeral service was at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 11 a.m. today with the Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Burial followed at Carmichael Cemetery.
