Eva D. Young, 77, of West Lafayette, died at 5:20 PM Friday, May 15, 1970, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been hospitalized four days, and in ill-health for two weeks. Born in Claysville, PA, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Margaret (Sheppard) Crowe, and had been a resident here since 1921.

Mrs. Young was graduated from Grove City College in Grove City, PA, and she taught school in Oak Ridge, Brookville and Claysville, PA. She was a member of the Federated Church in West Lafayette, General Lafayette Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the West Lafayette Reading Club.

[In the 1940 U.S. Census she lived in Wabash Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, with her husband, Ernest Young, and their two daughters, Margaret and Elizabeth.]

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Young, at home, and Margaret (Mrs. John) Petroskas of Swarthmore, PA; a sister, Mrs. Iva B. McSeveney of Washington, PA; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Robinson, John A. Petroskas, Jr., Susanne Nelson and James W. Petroskas; and one great-granddaughter, Christine Nelson. Service May 18, Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. Dr. Francis W. Trimmer officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
