Funeral services were held for Mr. Mary Benson, 72 years old, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Duston, 632 North Morris, Tuesday morning at 2 0'clock, were held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at the First Baptist church. The Rev. W. E. Hand, pastor of the grand Avenue Baptist church, assisted by the Rev. E. G. Pennington, officiated.
Burial was made in Fairview cemetery under the direction of George J. Carroll.
Mrs. Benson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Duston and several grandchildren. Her husband, David Benson, died more than 15 years ago.
Mrs. Benson was born July 25, 1859. She married J. M. Benson more than 50 years ago and had resided in Gainesville more than a half century.
