Bessie Leora (Collier) Cross, 85, of Ethridge, TN passed away Friday, September 1, 1989 at Lawrenceburg Healthcare Center following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late John Leander & Ida Lee (Thomason) Collier, wife of the late Earnest Grimitt Cross. A native of Lawrence County, a housewife and a member of Mt. Horeb Bapist Church.
Funeral services for Bessie Leora (Collier) Cross were conducted Monday, September 4, 1989, 11:00 a.m. at North Funeral Home Chapel, Lawrenceburg, TN with Rev. Don Paris officiating. Burial followed in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens with North Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
She is survived by two daughters: Martha J. (Charles) Hammett, Ethridge, TN; Brownie (Dick) Welsh, Delaware, OH, three sons, Ernest Charles (Woody) Cross, Bartonville, IL; Ben G. (Mayy) Cross, Dubai, Persian Gulf; Bobby (Barbara) Cross, Carthage, TN; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
