Born in Canadian, TX on Feb. 4th, 1928 to Robert B. and Anna Mae (Powell) Crosier, Naomi was reared and educated in her birth community. Following graduation from high school she took a job as a telephone operator.
On July 31st, 1948, Naomi and George Kelly Beard married in Amarillo, TX and made their home there. In the 1970's Naomi and George moved to Claremore to be near family. While living in Claremore Naomi worked at the hospital and later at a nursing home as a nurse aide. On Nov. 8, 2006, Mr. Beard passed away and as Naomi valued her independence, she continued to reside in her home.
Long before Facebook, Naomi was the source for family information and updates, the center of her close-knit and loving family. She kept everyone informed of news, activities and events. Naomi was an avid reader, keeping current on local and national events. Church attendance was important and she cherished those relationships that were made over the years at Memorial Heights. Her positive outlook, sweet spirit and Christian nature were an example to all. Naomi loved to gather her family together and prepare wonderful meals for them. She lovingly treasured photos and other items of sentimental value celebrating her precious grandchildren.
"Granny's" passing leaves her family with a heritage of self-sacrifice, old-fashioned values and joy. She is survived by her children, Mitzi Ann Tatowicz and husband, Tony, and Bryan Kelly Beard and wife, Maria, all of Claremore; grandchildren,Carrie Ann Gomez of Tulsa, Barry Jennings of Boone, Iowa, Christopher Kelly Beard, Allie Beard, Joseph Beard and A.J.
