Mrs. Bernice Dove Crosby, 84, a former Webster City resident, died Friday afternoon at Anaheim, Calif. She had been in ill health the past 11 years.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home with Charles E. Crosby officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Bernice Dove Genung, daughter of Arthur and Dora McBride Genung, was born Dec. 2, 1895, at Storm Lake, Iowa. She was reared and educated in South Dakota and attended Aberdeen Normal Teachers college, Aberdeen, S.D. She moved to Webster City in 1918, where she taught school.
She was married to Ernest Crosby, and she owned and operated the Bernice Crosby real estate firm in Webster City, retiring in 1970 and moving to california.
She is survived by three sons, Harold G. Crosby of Anaheim, James D. Crosby, Morro Bay, Calif., and Max Crosby of Chicago; seven grandchildren; Nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents, one brother and one sister.
She was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Webster City; was member of the D.A.R., a past matrom of the Eastern Star, and past president of the B.P.W. club from 18901961.
