Louisa Crim Armstrong was born to Abraham Crim and Joanna Armstrong on February 21, 1832 in Shelby Co., Alabama.

She married Elias Armstrong on August 20, 1853 in Shelby Co., Alabama.. They had two children.

Elias joined the Confederate States Army, Co. E 7th Alabama Cavalry. He was admitted to the CSA Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi on September 25, 1864. He was later sent home sick. He died October 15, 1864 and is buried in Shelby County, Alabama.

In 1867 Louisa travelled with her 2 children, her parents, and many other relatives to Rusk County,Texas to begin a new life. She died September 19, 1882 in Rusk County, Texas.

Hers was one of the earliest graves in Crims Chapel Cemetery.

Appears to be a replacement marker by contrast in condition of base and new maker with strong caracters.

Crims Chapel Cemetery, Rusk County, Texas.

Note: This cemetery contains the re-interred remains of nearby Gibson Cemetery, which was destroyed by lignite mining.
