From the Liberty (TX) Vindicator, Thursday, October 17, 1946, p. 3:

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Liberty Assembly of God Church with Rev. B. B. House officiating for Mrs. Lila Alma Carroll, 50, of Liberty, who passed away at her home in Liberty Saturday morning.

A resident of Liberty for the past 16 years, Mrs. Carroll is survived by her husband, Joe Carroll of Liberty; four sons, Henry, A. B. and Elbert, all of Liberty and Preston of Port Lavaca; two daughters, Mrs. Allivie Arceneaux and Mrs. Vernive Rose, both of Liberty; one brother, Allan Creel of Honey Island, four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Walter of Warren, Mrs. Joe Giles of Angleton, Mrs. Annie Norman of Corrigan and Mrs. Mary Jane Wilson of Oakdale, La., and four grandchildren.

Burial was in Fairlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Liberty. Pace Stancil Funeral Home was in charge.
