STANFIELD -- Virginia Yow Crayton, 80, of 4239 Renee Ford Road, died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at her home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, Stanfield. The body will lie for viewing 30 minutes prior to the service. The Rev. Don Ingle, the Rev. Don Jordan, the Rev. Eugene Carrol and speaker Larry Eudy will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. At other times, they will be at the home of 4239 Renee Ford Road, Stanfield.

Born Jan. 29, 1924, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Elizabeth Burris Yow and George Broadus Yow. She was a retired Weaver and member of Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, Stanfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a son, Garry Crayton.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde Lee Crayton of the home; a son, Tim Crayton of Stanfield; a daughter, Delaine Morton of Stanfield; two sisters, Maxine Barnhardt of Concord and Miner Lancaster of Stanfield; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC.
