Gussie Cook, 95, of Throckmorton and formerly of Sweetwater, died at 4 a.m. Sunday in Crestview Nursing Home in Throckmorton after an extended illness.

Services were at 3 p.m. today in Cate-Spencer Funeral Home Chapel. Larry, Fluitt, minister of Lamar Street Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Sweetwater Cemetery.

Born July 23, 1883 in Lampasas County, she married A. C. Cook in August, 1908, in Stamford. They lived in Lueders and Lovington, N.M. before moving to Sweetwater in 1918. Her husband died in 1954. He was constable in Sweetwater for a number of years.

Mrs. Cook was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Will Scott of Throckmorton; and several nieces and nephews, including Marshall Pior of Sweetwater.

Pallbearers were Hudson Lincoln, Robert M. Faver, Prentis Scott, Marshall Pior, Scott Faver and Henry L. Bennett.
