INDEPENDENCE, KS. — Earl R. "Dick" Cranor, 93, Independence, Kansas, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Mercy Hospital, in Independence, Kansas.

He was born December 2, 1911, in Altoona, Kansas, the son of Edward L. and Gertrude A. (Middleton) Cranor.

He was raised and attended school in the Altoona, KS area, where he farmed for many years. He moved to Independence in 1996.

He was a member of Bible Holiness Church.

On December 1, 1935, he married Wilma L. Davidson. She survives.

Other survivors include four children, David Dean Cranor, Loran Wesley Cranor, Wanda Sones, and Janice Cornett, all of Independence, KS; a brother, Robert Cranor, Independence, KS; two sisters, Norene Johnson, Lancaster, CA, and Lela Lehman, Sacramento, CA; and 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, five sisters, and a grandson, Kevin Cranor.

Funeral services will be Dec. 30, 2004 at Bible Holiness Church, Independence, KS, led by Pastor Joe Davolt. Burial will be in Altoona City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Independence Bible School.
