Lucile Buchan, 90, formerly of Alameda and Petaluma, California passed away on March 3, 2011.

Lucile was born October 15, 1920 to Leo and Blanche Bingham Crandall in Ogden, Utah. She was the oldest of three children. She attended school in Alameda and graduated from Alameda High School in 1938.

She was the mother of five children: Bonnie, Neil, Bruce, Laurie, and Steve. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by her children, 16 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren, and her brother Jerry Crandall.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Keith Crandall.

A memorial service was held on Monday March 14, 2011 at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito, CA.

Lucile married Hector McDonald Buchan on December 4, 1941. He was the 9th of ten children born to Robert Bruce (1877-1935) and Helen Reid (1878-1953) Buchan of Scotland, who immigrated to the USA in 1923, settling in California. Hector was born June 3, 1920 and died 24 August 2000.

The couple lived most of their married life in Alameda, CA and had five children.

Hector and Lucile divorced in March of 1968 in Alameda. Hector remarried, Lucile did not.
