Private David Jonathan Craft, Jr.

David Jonathan Craft, Jr. was born June 15, 1815 to David Craft (born 1770) and Elizabeth Camper Craft (born 1781).

Elizabeth was a daughter of Peter and Alice James Camper who settled on Back Creek after the Revolutionary War.

He married Catherine Vines on July 14, 1836.

They had seven children:
Jacob Moore Craft (1837)
Mary Ann Craft (1838)
Jonathan Craft (1843) died in the Civil War
George Richard Craft (1846)
James M. Craft (1841)
Lewis David Craft (1849)
and Charles W. Craft (1851)

David Jonathan Craft, Jr. enlisted in the confederacy as a Private in Company K, 3rd Bat. Reserves Infantry Regiment, Virginia. He served alongside his son, Jacob Moore Craft, for four years.

David passed away on Dec. 13, 1893 and is buried in Andrews Chapel Methodist Cemetery, Springwood, Va.
