Anne was born on March 3, 1917, in Lake Wilson, MN, the daughter of George and Mary (Lowe) Scotting. She grew up in Lake Wilson, graduating from high school in 1934. She continued her schooling at an ag school in St. Paul and then went on to nurses training, receiving her RN at Asbury Methodist Hospital in St. Paul.

On December 18, 1938, she was united in marriage to Raymond S. Coyle. Following their marriage, they lived in various parts of the state while they farmed. Raymond managed some elevators until settling in Murdock in 1954, where they farmed.

She was a member of Kerkhoven Presbyterian Church, where she was extremely active, teaching Sunday school, bible study, singing in the choir, and ladies aid. Anne loved music. Besides singing in the choir, Anne and Raymond often sang together and she often played the piano. Anne was a crafter and enjoyed crocheting, as well. Holidays were always a special time in their home, especially Halloween. The children remember how she always made costumes and all the "spooky and scary" decorations.
