Deceased was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Coyle, of the town of Sodus, and was a most estimable lady, beloved by all who knew her. She was a native of Pennsylvania and was born July 10, 1865. With her parents she came to Minnesota in the early days, locating near Rochester, where Mr. Coyle was for several years a successful farmer, until the family moved to Lyon County. In 1885 Miss Lottie was married to Mr. Joseph C. Brown, then a prosperous farmer in the town of Clifton. Two years ago, she became a resident of the village of Marshall, engaging in the mercantile business, and as a member of society here and in her husband's store.
The funeral occurred on Sunday afternoon, and despite the few hours of notice during the forenoon, a large number of people attended the services, which occurred at the home of her parents in Sodus. The exercises were conducted by Rev. Mr. Geer, of the Methodist church of Marshall. The sad procession which winded its way to the Marshall cemetery numbered over half a hundred carriages. There was present a large delegation of members of Lona Chapter of the Eastern Star, to which the deceased belonged. The deceased leaves a husband and a little boy, Walter, 7 years old.
