Ardis G. Cox, formerly of Lincoln, passed away February 7, 2013 at the Waverly Care Center. She was born August 11, 1922 near DuBois, NE to Gilbert and Ellen (Schmid) Stalder. She grew up on the family farm and attended Middleburg Country School. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1939 and then moved to Lincoln, where she graduated from the Lincoln School of Commerce.
After graduation, Ardis worked for the State Health Department and later for the Campfire Office. She met Wayne Cox while working for the Health Department, and they were united in marriage on December 4, 1949. They had one daughter, Janelle. Ardis was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Norden Club. She enjoyed gardening, collecting recipes and loved spending time with her family.
Ardis is survived by her husband of 63 years, Wayne; daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and Brent Williams of Lincoln; 2 granddaughters, Kristin Williams of Lincoln and Kimberly (Cale) Lang of Sabetha, KS; 2 great grandsons, Micah and Jackson Lang of Sabetha, KS; brother-in-law, Gene Stake of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Sharryn Stake and Darlene Glathar.
