He was raised in Morocco and was a 1943 graduate of Morocco High School. Howard enjoyed traveling and was a truck driver for over 30 years with Sims Transportation. In 1945 Howard married Kathleen Brusnanhan who preceded him in death. In 1989 Howard married Bernice Bennett who survives. He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Surviving with his wife Bernice are two sons, Phillip H. Cox of Arkansas and Billy C. (Margaret) Cox, Colorado Springs, CO, two grandchildren, Jesse A. Cox, Colorado Springs, and Katie (Alex) Leach, Omaha, Nebraska and one great-grandson, Jacob. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, his parents and two brothers.
