Cheryl Lu Terrell Cox, 54, of Roanoke, Va., departed this life Sunday, October 10, 2010, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born March 1, 1956, to the late Addie T. and Robert L. Cox. Cheryl was a 1975 graduate of William Fleming High School and a recent resident of Springtree Health and Rehabilitation Center. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathy Cox, of Morristown, Tenn. Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Paul Smith, Roanoke; two brothers, Robert (Mildred) Cox Jr., Roanoke, Scotty Cox, Morristown, Tenn.; one sister, Darlene Cox, Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity Funeral Home.
