UNITED STATES ARMY- KOREAN WAR (FEB 27, 1951-FEB 20, 1953 Combat Infantryman Badge, Army of Occupation Medal Japan Army, National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze Stars, UN Korean Service Medal, Republic of Korea War Service Medal, Korean defense Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, 24th Army/ Heavy Mortar Company 21st Infantry Regiment.

Bobby Cox of Bakersfield went to be with our Lord on July 27, 2008. He was born in Norman, Oklahoma to Steven and Mable Cox and moved to Lamont, California in September 1949. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol and their three children; daughter, Valerie Weichelt and husband Gary of Bakersfield; sons, Richard and wife, Pamala of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Bobby Leo and wife Jennifer of Ventura. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Margie Patton, Alta Maniord and husband Don, and Viola Cox all of Bakersfield; sisters-in-law, Joan Shields and Shirley Cox of Bakersfield; and brother-in-law, James Holt of Oklahoma, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Korea. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Norman Eades, Justin Eades, Jarrod Eades, Larry Cox, Richard Lee Cox and Bobby E. Cox. Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons; Brain and Calvin Cox, Chet Weichelt and Joseph Pangilinan. A visitation for Bobby will take place at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary Bakersfield from 2-7 p.m., on Thursday, July 31st. Funeral services for Bobby will be held at Word of Life Fellowship at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 1st; Pastor Harvey Friedley will officiate. Interment will follow at Arvin.
