Chico Record, Wednesday Morning, August 29, 1906, pg 4 col 4: Burial of Chas. E. Cox Yesterday. Charles E. Cox of Davisville was buried from the undertaking parlors of Thos. Bicknell yesterday, the remains being accompanied to the grave by quite a number of old friends. Deceased had recently been conducting a saloon at Davisville, Yolo county, and had been a sufferer from stomach troubles of an aggravated form, and while in an enfeebled condition had been stricken with pneumonia, to which he succumbed after a short illness, dying at that place on Sunday last.
Mr. Cox was a native of Alabama, aged about 43 years, and had been a resident of the Sacramento Valley for a number of years. In 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Belle Johnson of Butte City, who, with a three-year-old son, survive him.
