Birdie Idell Low Cotter passed into heaven on Thursday, April 28, 2011.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Home.
Birdie was born in Wingate, Runnels County, to Jim and Lena Hancock Low Jan. 20, 1907, and she married Clifford Victor Cotter in Big Spring in 1930. They lived in Texas, Arkansas and California before moving to Weatherford in 1946. Birdie was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and longtime member and a Worthy Matron of the Pythian Sisters Lodge. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Darrell Don; her husband, Clifford Victor Cotter; and her grandson, Clifford Mark Cotter.
Survivors: She is survived by her sons, Gene of Weatherford and Sam and wife, Ruth Lynn, of Weatherford; grandchildren, Dena McRoberts and husband, Shawn, of Forney, Chris Cotter and wife, Lara, of Kingwood, Shari Hedstrom of Weimar and Kelli McAnally and husband, Bryan, of Flower Mound; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Austin McRoberts of Forney, Sam and Zack Cotter of Kingwood, Ethan and Nolan Powell of Kingwood, Lynlee Hedstrom of Lubbock, Nolan Hedstrom of Austin, Samantha and Mitchell Hedstrom of Weimar, Kaylyn Cotter and Kelsi McAnally of Flower Mound; sister, Mickey Orrell of Mineral Wells; and numerous other relatives.
