Elmer A. Cotner, 68, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland, loving husband, father, grandfather and mentor of many, died peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2011, at his home with his family surrounding him.
He was a concrete mixer driver for Hempt Brothers, Camp Hill; an Army Viet Nam veteran; a member of American Legion Post 974, Fairview Twp.; 40/8 Local 22, New Cumberland; a long time member of the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Assn. Some of his hobbies included antique tractors, trucks and model trains.
Born on June 2, 1943, in Watsontown, he was the son of the late LeRoy G. and Mary A. (Guistwhite) Cotner. He was the widow of Jutta M. (Seldner) Cotner.
Surviving are a son, Elmer L. Cotner of Summerdale; a daughter and her husband, Sue and Mike Hedstrom of Etters; three brothers, Robert of Chincoteague Island, VA, Richard of Watsontown, and James of Altoona; two sisters, Edna McClauskey of Missouri and Evelyn Cotner of Watsontown; three grandchildren, Brandon M. Hedstrom, Ashley M. Hedstrom and Kylie E. Cotner.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg PA 17110.
