On the morning of March 22 Mrs. Jane Cannon bade farewell to earth and went to live with him who doeth all things well. She was twice married, first to George Powell and next to Wesley W. Cannon. Seven children survive her-Joseph Powell of Asheville, Lemuel Cannon of Illinois, William, Henry and John Cannon of Lenoir, Mrs. J.A. Craig and Mrs. D.W. Arney.
Her gentle spirit caused all who knew her to love her. She was a member of the Littlejohns Methodist church. She is not dead, but has only entered into a larger sphere of life than it is possible for us to live here.We will miss her, but our loss is her eternal gain.
