Daughter of Ezra Young Corey and Sophia M. Goldmsith, wife of Benjamin Alvah Horton, whom she married on December 2, 1865 in Cutchogue, NY, and mother of Oliver C. and Lillian B. Horton (married Edmund Lockwood Case).

In 1900, Amanda T. C. Horton, aged 51, widowed, was living in Brookhaven, NY, in the home of her son-in-law, Edmund L. Case, aged 35, and daughter, Lily B. Case, aged 33, and their children, Wallace L. Case, aged 13, Raymond S. Case, aged 11, and Elwin L. Case, aged 5. Her son-in-law, Edmund, was shown to be a dry goods agent.

In 1930, Amanda C. Horton, aged 81, was living on Carman Street, Patchogue, NY in the home of her son, Oliver C. Horton, aged 56. Also living in the household were Julia W. Horton, aged 39, Marjorie P. Horton, aged 13, Stanley Randall, aged 15, Norman Randall, aged 14, and Donald Randall, aged 12. Her son, Oliver, was shown to be the proprietor of a plumbing shop.

Obituary - Mrs. Amanda T.C. Horton died Sunday morning at the home of her son, Oliver C. Horton, of 124 Carman Street, at the age of 81 years. She was born at Cutchogue, a descendent of the late Tuthill and Corey families. Many years of her life were spent there and she was a very ardent worker in the Methodist church. She moved to Patchogue and lived for several years with her daughter, Mrs. Edmund Case of 30 Sycamore Street, but the past few years were spent with her son, Mr. Horton.

Mrs. Case and Mr. Horton are the only children surviving her. There are also eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at the Horton home at 8 o'clock this evening, at which the Rev. John Robert Gee will officiate, with interment at Cutchogue tomorrow.
