Mary Cooper Batchelor, 87, of Atlantic Avenue, Monaca, died peacefully Friday evening, Oct. 14, 1994, in her home.
The granddaughter of a pioneer Center Township family, she was born Sept. 20, 1907, and was a daughter of the late John and Olive Dodds Cooper. She was a member of the debate team and a graduate of the Aliquippa High School, Class of 1925, and had attended Geneva College. She was the principal of Bunker High School, Center Township, where she taught the eighth grade class from 1925 to 1928, when she became principal of the George Washington High School in Monaca. A member of the First Baptist Church, Rochester, she was a former Sunday school teacher of the church. She served as past president of the Rochester Woman's Club, Monaca Garden Club, Beaver Valley Toast Mistress Club and the Beaver County Childrens Aid Society.
Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Elvin W. Batchelor.
