CECIL, HELEN MARIE, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She is the former Helen Cooper, a native of St. Mary, KY. Helen was a professional homemaker (13 children) and a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Poffley; and a granddaughter, Molly Cecil. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, David A. Cecil; 12 children, David L. Cecil, William J. Cecil (Betty), Judy Conder, Linda Savage (Terry), Robert L. Cecil (Kathy), Kathy Olds, Susan Davis (Rick), C. Edward Cecil (Donna) , James A. Cecil (Norma), Mark T. Cecil, Theresa Gray, and Chris Cecil (Carol); 36 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday at her church, 6105 S. Third Street, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at J. E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Drive. Expressions of sympathy to: Mass of the Air.
