Dorothy Jean Cool, 84, of North Platte passed away at home May 10, 2015. Dorothy was born July 7, 1930 the eighth of nine children born to John and Ruth Clark Kentopp at McCook. Dorothy grew up in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School in 1948. On Oct. 14, 1949, Dorothy married the love of her life, Wayne Cool, in Denver, Colo. and they celebrated 43 wonderful years together before he passed away in 1993. Three years after they were married their first and only child. Dorothy was a proud North Platte resident and remained in North Platte all her life. She and Wayne were well known around town to be quite the dancing pair. Dorothy was also a loyal member of many organizations including the Lincoln County Democrats, Red Hat Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She had an eye for style and was one of the best dressed women in town. Dorothy was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Those who knew her knew her to be the epitome of dignity and sophistication. Along with her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and all eight of her siblings. A private family inurnment will be in the North Platte Cemetery.
