On December 22, 1929 in Whitesburg, KY, he was born to John and Nevada (Brown) Cook. He married Helen L. Orr on October 4, 1949 in Tiffin.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Michele) Cook of Deshler; Pamela (Jeff Carson) McClintock and Carla (Kory) Staib both of Tiffin, brother, Bill (Rose Mary) Cook of Tiffin; sisters, Stenella Nunnery of Sumter, SC; Irene Kuhn of Fostoria; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a special friend, Margaret Marshall of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen in 1996, brothers, Conley, Lester, and Gene Cook; sister, Edna Creeger, great grandson, Cameron Harper and great grand daughter, Rebecca Burden
Carl was a member of Tiffin Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Basic Refracatories in 1985 after 27 years. He enjoyed playing the Banjo, Guitar, Dobro and playing in the church band. Carl also enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, helping others, and his friends at the Pit Stop. He was a member of the Carey Conservation Club, Seneca County Coon Hunters, and was in the Ohio National Guard.
A funeral service will be Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10:00 am with Pastor Clifford Tyree and Rev. Melanie Haack officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
