Dorothy was born April 11, 1933 in Georgia, daughter of the late William Perry Cook and Lottie Bernice Clark Cook. She owned Bridal House of Charleston and was also a realtor. Dorothy was active in her community having served on Hanahan City Council, she worked diligently in the PTA and started a reading program at Fishburne Elementary. She was a member of Christ Sanctified Holy Church where she was very active in her youth.
She is survived by three children: Robin Cease Halbig (John) of Hanahan, SC, Michael Cease of Goose Creek, SC and Sherrie Cease of Hanahan, SC; 11 grandchildren: Justin Todd, Brandon Todd, Ashley Todd Bennett, Alison Abbott, Christin Cease, Jason Halbig, Ryan Halbig, Caleb Halbig, Jordan Halbig, David Barker, Jake Barker; great-grandchildren, Elijah Bennett; Desmond Todd and Oliver Todd.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents and two siblings, Lottie Mae Oliver, and William Cook.
