MICKEY CONTRERAS
CARLSBAD--Mickey T. Contreras, 93, of North Canal Street, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1995, at Lakeview-North Canal. Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Forest Srader will officiate with the assistance of the Revs. Jack Drake and Gene Fooks. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today at West Chapel.
Arrangements are being made by West Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Contreras was born July 5, 1902, in Roswell, to Jesus and Sexta Martinez Trujillo. The family moved to Loving in 1910 and to Carlsbad in 1982. She was raised and received her education in this area.
She was employed as a sales clerk for many years, working in dry goods stores and grocery stores. In her later years, she did housekeeping, and retired at the age of 74.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Contreras; a son, Herman Hernandez; and daughter, Nora Lee Contreras.
She was a member of the Assembly of God.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean Urquidez of Carlsbad; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roy Hernandez, Alan Brown, Felix Carrasco, Fred Padilla, Raul Urquidez and Don Fierro.
