Black Hills Daily Times newspaper, December 16, 1891 - Thomas Connors (sic), aged 39 years, died of pneumonia at his residence in Lead, at 5 o'clock Tuesday morning. Funeral will take place from Miners' Union hall at 2 p.m. Thursday, interment to take place in the Catholic cemetery. Deceased came to the Hills from Pennsylvania in 1878, and has been in the employ of the Homestake company ever since. At one time he was a shift boss in the open cut, and for a few months was foreman of the Deadwood-Terra, during the time Sam McMasters was superintendent. Deceased leaves a wife and two children and a nephew, Patsy McLaughlin, in the Hills, and a sister at his old home in Pennsylvania to mourn his loss. He was a member of the Lead City Miners' Union, I.O.O.F. and A.O.U.W.
Black Hills Daily Times newspaper, December 18, 1891 - The funeral of the late Thomas Connors (sic) took place yesterday afternoon from the Lead City Miners' Union hall and was largely attended. It was conducted under the auspices of Hope Lodge No. 50 A.O.U.W., Father Redmond officiating. Intermnet took place in the Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas Connor Friday evening, received a check for $3,000, which was the amount of the insurance her husband carried in Hope Lodge No. 40, A.O.U.S. The check was presented by Master Workman John Farrell, and Recorder O. W. Matson.
