He joined Tabernacle Church of God in Preston, MS, as a young man. He attended Preston School in Preston, MS, and Whisenton High School in DeKalb, MS.
He lived most of his life in Florida where he was a truck driver, and in 1992, he moved back to Kemper County, MS.
He later married Pearlena Hall and joined Henderson Ridge Baptist Church in Preston, MS. He then later reunited back with Tabernacle Church of God in Preston, MS.
He died March 18, 2001, at the age of 58.
He was the Husband of Pearlena Hall Conner; the Father of two children; the Step Father of Virgie Hall, Tinika Hall, and George Hall; the Son of Mattie Conner; and the Brother of Alma C. Conner Jackson, Bessie Conner, Edwin Conner, Thelma Moore, Mable Barr, and Tommie J. Winters.
