Clark H. Connelly was born on May 1, 1857, on a farm in Parker township, Clark county, Ill. In 1886, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Millis of this county. To this union 6 children were born, 3 boys and 3 girls. Five of them survive him.

In December 1881, he professed faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church at the Kimlin, north west of Martinsville. He lived on a farm all his life and was always considered an honest, hard working farmer. He died April 15, 1903, aged 45 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

He was held in high esteem by all his neighbors. The large crowd of friends and neighbors that gathered around his bier and with sobs and tear stained faces took the last look at all that remained mortal of their beloved neighbor was a fitting tribute and an evidence of the high esteem in which he was held by them.

He leaves a great host of friends and relatives to mourn his loss. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the sorrow stricken family in their bereavement.
