Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Saturday, October 21, 1944: "A native of Stellerton, Nova Scotia, Mrs. Catherine Theresa (Mooney) Conley, 75, widow of Charles Edward Conley, 319 Maryland avenue, died last evening in Allegany Hospital where she was admitted earlier yesterday. She had been ill a number of years and seriously ill for three weeks. A daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Mooney, Mrs. Conley came to this country with her parents when she was three years old. After several years elsewhere in the United States, the family settled in Lonaconing. She is survived by five children: Mrs. J. Tom Long, and George L. Conley, both of this city; Miss Marguerite Conley, at home; Mrs. Leo G. Kotschenreuther, Portsmouth, Va.; and William Edward Conley, Chicago; a brother, William J. Mooney, Frostburg and a grandson, Leo G. Kotschenreuther, Jr., Portsmouth."

Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland Sun 22 Oct 1944: "A requiem mass will be read tomorrow at 9 a. m. in St. Patrick's Catholic church for Mrs. Catherine Theresa (Mooney) Conley, 75, of 319 Maryland Avenue, who died Friday evening in Allegany Hospital. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body will remain at Stein Funeral Home where members of the Court Cardinal Gibbons No 529, Catholic Daughters of America will meet tonight at 8 p.m. to recite the rosary."
