Her husband, Albert Riley Bowles, died in 1995.
She was employed with Watkins Johnson in Gaithersburg, Md., for 17 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Ricketts and Patricia Jenkins, both of Hagerstown; three sons, John Bowles of Rockville, Md., Albert Bowles Jr. of Middletown, Md., and Ray Bowles of Virginia; two sisters, Edna Etman of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Janice Kline of Fairplay; four brothers, Lawrence Compton of Mobile, Ala., Buddy Compton of Clear Spring, Howard Compton and Melvin Compton, both of Sharpsburg; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Boward and Janet Tibbs; one son, Ronnie Bowles; and one brother, John R. Compton.
Services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown; burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
