Funeral services will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Elizabeth "Liz" Broussard, age 65, the former Elizabeth Comeaux, who passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 surrounded by friends.Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. Pastor Brandon Miller of Family Life Church will officiate at the services.
Ms. Broussard was a native of Carencro and had been a resident of Scott for the past twenty years. She was a parishioner of Family Life Church. She was a volunteer at local nursing homes. Ms. Broussard loved dancing, Cajun music, baking bread, reading and especially taking care of her grandchild. Her family was her life!
Survivors include three daughters, Valerie Burleigh and her husband, Tommy, Veronica Ryder and her husband, Bryan, and Vanessa Boudreaux and her husband, Ricky; one sister, Priscilla Mire and her husband, Ray; one brother, Howard Comeaux, Jr. and his wife, Olivia; four grandchildren: Joshua, Nicholas, Wesley and Kara; her former husband, Rodolph "Rudy" Broussard; and her special friend, Leray Menard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard P. Comeaux, Sr. and the former Alice Mae Bayard; an infant daughter, Mary; and one brother, David Comeaux.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Ravis "Ray" Mire, René Mire and Caleb Bush.
Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
