Esther Marie Brewer, 82, of Dalhart died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Brewer will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 1, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Dalhart with Clifford Dane officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery
Esther Marie Combs was born May 8, 1926 in Griggs, Oklahoma to Levi Dow and Emma Elizabeth (Williamson) Combs. Esther married J.P. (Jake) Brewer on December 15, 1947 in Clayton, NM – he went home to be with the Lord in 1991. Ester was an active member of the First Baptist Church; she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, leather crafting, woodworking, bowling and working in her yard. Esther was known city-wide for her cinnamon rolls, homemade bread and fried chicken.
She is survived by her son: Coy Brewer and his wife Eleanor of Fort Sumner, NM; her daughter: Connie and husband John Childress of Dalhart, Texas; son-in-law: Tommy Rice of Amarillo; special friend: Frank Adame of Dalhart, TX; sisters: Ruby Barlow of Lubbock, TX – Orpha Sutley of Camey, Kansas, 9 grandchildren & 3 great–grandchildren,
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter – Vicki Rice and her parents
