Edward was the son of John and Susan Collins who immigrated from England. His family left Vermont and relocated to Niagara County by the time Edward was four and were living in Newfane. By the time he reached eight, they lived in Wilson. The wedding of Edward and Miss Albertine Shippy took place around 1894. They settled into farming in Lewiston and raised four sons. In 1940 they lived on Dickersonville Road. Edward passed away at the ripe old age of 79.
